Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
pinch salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Spray cookie sheets with non-stick spray.
Mix sugars and shortening. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingredients.
Roll into small balls and dip in red and/or green colored sugar.
Place on cookie sheet.
Flatten with bottom of a glass.
Bake at 375 degrees for 7-10 minutes.

I rolled them in cinnamon-sugar instead of colored sugar. They were eve better.

These are DELICIOUS!!! I did not have shortening so I used butter. They are super good! The shortening would've kept them from spreading as much but they still turned out great! A Keeper!
