Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 cup confectioner's sugar, sifted
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
additional sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 395 degrees.
Combine butter or margarine, oil, sugars and eggs in a large bowl. Beat until smooth.
Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Add to butter mixture.
Beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla and chocolate chips.
Shape mixture into 1" balls.
Roll in granulated sugar.
Put 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Cool. Can wrap well and freeze.

These cookies are delicious!!! They are very easy to make, I made mine a little smaller & they were great with coffee or tea. These cookies also last a long time & stay fresh in a airtight container in a cold place.
