Ingredients
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup shortening
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease baking sheets.
Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt, set aside.
Blend shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
Alternately add sour cream and flour mixture, mix thoroughly and divide in half.
Refrigerate dough until firm.
Roll dough on floured surface to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut into shapes.
Place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Cool on wire rack
Decorate as desired.
