Ingredients
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Icing:
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 egg white
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon almond extract
food coloring and sprinkles (optional)
2 cups powdered sugar
Directions
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients. Mix well.
Chill dough for 2 hours.
Roll to desired thickness and use favorite cookie cutters.
Bake for 7-10 minutes.
Icing:
Combine all ingredients.
It is best to ice the cookies while they are still warm.

These might be Santa's favorite, but nothing spectacular. They had a good taste but weren't "melt in your mouth." The cooler they got the more crispy they became. Everyone has an opinion and although they might be perfect for someone else, I won't be making them again.
